A trend-setting cooperation with the Austrian Ski Federation

RASCHAU/REHAU/INNSBRUCK, 13 March, 2013 – The logo of the global company REHAU and of Peter Riedel, the expert in the field of innovative ski jump inrun technologies, decorates some of the world`s most prominent ski jumps, and this number is continuously increasing. However, what has been negotiated behind closed doors is equally important (or even more important!) as equipping and servicing the tournament ski jump in Garmisch-Partenkirchen or installing inruns on (almost) every continent. Because Peter Riedel GmbH and REHAU have entered into a trend-setting partnership, in fact with the leader in the field of winter sports: the Austrian Ski Federation (ÖSV).

“Considering that Peter Riedel GmbH has really appeared in public from 2008 by getting involved on the world cup ski jump in Trondheim, the cooperation with the Austrian Ski Federation formed in 2013 is a clear sign of what has been achieved in the past five years and of the extent of reputation that has been built”, company owner Peter Riedel says proudly. “Because one thing is clear: the ÖSV carefully selects its partners.”

“For REHAU, the cooperation with the Austrian Ski Federation means that the big break in the field of sports and recreation in our business area has been achieved”, sales manager Guido Warmuth adds. “REHAU has the chance to place and enhance material competence in one of the most important winter sports federations with the suggestions of the active ones being introduced into the product development in the future, in fact at all levels: high-performance, popular and youth sports.”

On the one hand, the cooperation, which was planned for the next several years, grants the Austrian Ski Federation access to the latest developments of the polymer specialist REHAU with 17,000 employees worldwide. On the other hand, the federation uses the latest findings of the company Peter Riedel, which is innovatively advancing the development of inruns and at the same time enhancing ice mills and ice cutters or data technology in cooperation with the University of Sports Sciences in Salzburg and other approved international institutions.
Toni Giger, who has been head of the department of development, research and innovation in the Austrian Ski Federation for two and a half years, speaks of a “win-win situation” for all participants: “We know that Peter Riedel and REHAU are producing top products which can now be tested and enhanced even better in cooperation with the ÖSV. And for us, it is an advantage to get access to the very same products and materials, to use them for our purposes and to be able to be prepared for it.”
The competition in sports is becoming increasingly tough – technology is becoming increasingly important. Peter Riedel is looking forward to be part of the successful system of the Austrian Ski Federation. “To be able to cooperate with the ÖSV is like the ultimate accolade of winter sports. We are well aware of the duty and the responsibility but I can assert: We won`t disappoint.”
