FIS WC Nordic Combined/WC ladies in Chaikovsky

At minus 22 degrees currently the ski jumping and cross country competitions for ladies and Nordic combined take place in the Russian Chaikovsky, right on the Ural, about 400 km from the border of Europe/Asia.
2 km after the city border of Chaikovsky a completely new ski jumping facility was built with 5 jumps and a hotel in the past 3 years.

The Peter Riedel GmbH upgraded the jumps with new inrun track systems as a double track system on the K125, K95, K60 and  on the K40 and K 20 a summer track system. The conditions on the jumps are very good, reports Thomas Abratis, TD of the FIS. The outside temperatures below freezing point you feel very very cold, but this is not abnormal at this time of the Russian New Year's Day for the region.

Alexandr Postanogov, member of the OK of the event is very excited about the competitions in Chaikovski, especially as it has created connection with the FIS World Cup events.

The more we emphasize that we have the same system in the inrun tracks as it exists at the New Year ski jumping in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and for 7 years works without any problems. For the region, even the WC event is important because it has received through these competitions a tourism improvements and thus fits into the round of WC-organizer. It will not be the last FIS competitions on these hills in the Urals in the middle of the great Russian Federation.
