Mastertrack in Saalfelden is ready!

After three weeks of intensive work, the second track in Saalfelden from Peter Riedel is now ready to use! After the construction of the new inrun on the K30 hill this summer, the K60 hill has now also underwent a general makeover. A mastertrack inrun, which is also installed on World Cup hills, makes the hill one of the first K60 jumps with an ice inrun track in Austria! This means that it is now possible to train on an ice track at the Uttenhofen ski jumping center under the most professional conditions.

Engineer and track builder Peter Riedel reports on the progress of construction: “We have been in Saalfelden for a good three weeks and finished all the work yesterday. We have adapted the existing base to the requirements of the FIS and built a future-oriented hill profile that also meets all requirements for the organization of competitions. This combined with the new Mastertrack inrun, on which you can train on ceramic surfaces in summer and on ice in winter, makes the K60 hill in Saalfelden an important spot for training and competition in Austria. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the municipality, the local ski club and the Nordic Ski School Saalfelden as well as all those involved in the construction, including the planners and site management, for the great cooperation, ”says Peter Riedel.

The central location throughout Austria and the geographical proximity to Germany are further parameters that underline the future high value of the facility. Also because one of three austrian Nordic performance centers is located in Saalfelden, as the Nordic director of the Austrian Ski Federation, Mario Stecher, explains:

“The K60 hill is another important step for a great training center that is currently being built in Saalfelden. Saalfelden is one of three performance centers in Austria, which why it is very important to us. Everyone from young to old will find ideal training conditions there”, enthuses the former world-class nordic combined athlete.

A first test of the track cooling system, the milling machine and everything that goes with it was passed, so nothing stands in the way for great jumping and training sessions in Saalfelden!
