Hello from Trondheim! Almost half time of the Nordic Ski World Championships, and we would like to give you a short update. It's unbelievable how time flies when you have such a busy schedule as we currently have. We've been here since Monday and after preparing the track and the positive FIS approval, we've been getting down to business for a few days now.
Our job is to ensure perfect inrun conditions from the first to the last jumper. And anyone who knows us knows that we love nothing more than that! But with this tight schedule with a total of 13 medal decisions, it’s really demanding. There are days that start at 8 in the morning and sometimes last until 10 in the evening. But our energy level is still high and with a team like this we are highly motivated for the next competitions.
This time, our biggest opponent is the changing and sometimes really horrible weather. When the rain is pouring down like it did yesterday, huge effort is required to create fair conditions for everyone. With our international team, which is made up of experts in their field, it is precisely this kind of challenge that can be mastered with confidence. What makes it so special is the know-how from different areas that work together seamlessly. Steel construction, milling technology, ice specialists - everything meshes together and works smoothly. I would also like to praise the cooperation with the chief of the hill and the FIS. Everyone supports each other and does everything they can to deliver a solid product together.
This, coupled with the latest technology that we have established for the first time here in the Granasen ski jumping center, makes this mixture exactly what it is: an extremely successful one.
It is great fun to make a small contribution with such a motivated team to make this World Championships a complete success. Here's to the next few days!
Yours sincerely, Peter Riedel
