Valentine's Day is always a very special day for our family. In addition to making your loved ones happy, it is also the birthday of a very important person in my life. And that is none other than my father Eberhard. It's hard to believe that "Ebbs" is celebrating his 87th birthday today!

The fact that age is just a number and life is what you make out of it is so true for him. His interest is still entirely in alpine skiing. He still curves down his beloved Fichtelberg, making many young people jealous. But since his passion for alpine skiing has now shifted more to the television, it is almost like a birthday present that the Alpine Ski World Championships are currently being held in Saalbach.

There is no race that he misses, no Worldcup that he is not still involved in with heart and soul. Whether it is Kitzbühel or Wengen. Whether in Adelboden, where he was the last German winner until 2014, or Kranjska Gora, where he still is today. There has never been and never will be a life without skiing for my father.

Dad, keep your enthusiasm and curiosity, I am proud of you and how you manage your life. All the best and good health for your birthday, your son Peter!
