Children's Four Hills Tournament in Reit im Winkl (GER)

Last Saturday the second station of the children's Four Hills Tournament took place in Reit im Winkl (GER). A total of 116 children found their way to the small town near the Austrian border to compete in two competition jumps. This was especially pleasing the main sponsor Peter Riedel: "I have to admit, at first we did not expect that many participants. I am very happy that so many kids have found their way to Reit im Winkl. It shows that the interest in the ski jumping sport is still unbroken among the very young."

Two competition jumps on three different hills (HS10, HS18 and HS30) were held. The kids were fighting for the day's victory and valuable points in the overall standings. The lucky winners were Florentina Moder (Girls 1, SC Erzbergland), Zeno Rumpfinger (K7, WSV Oberaudorf), Meghann Wadsak (Girls 2, SC Wiener Stadtadler), Nikolai Holzer (K8, WSV Oberaudorf), David Gruber (K9, SC Bischofshofen), Tymoteusz Cienciala (K10, WSS Wisla) and Remo Elsner (K11, SC Erzbergland).

Saturday's winners are also almost identical to the leaders in the overall standings. Only in the class K11 Jonas Gruber from SC Bischofshofen took the lead in the overall ranking, Remo Elsner is on the intermediate third overall place.

The Children's Four Hills Tournament, the largest ski jumping event for kids in Europe, will continue in Austria at the end of September. On 22nd of September the young eagles compete in Bischofshofen, one week later the big final will take place in Hinzenbach (Upper Austria). And it will be a special final for the participants, as the competition in Hinzenbach will be held on the same day as the FIS Summer Grand Prix.
