“Join us and discover your sport!” - This motto along with bright sunshine and summer temperatures attracted around 55,000 visitors to the second Munich outdoor sports festival last Sunday in the Olympic Park in Munich. Around 60 outdoor activities ranging from classic to trendy were available for testing around the Olympic Mountain, the Olympic Lake, the Olympic Stadium and the Coubertinplatz. The mobile K4 ski jump of Peter Riedel GmbH stood in the middle of the bustle this year, too. Together with the Bavarian Ski Association and the SC Auerbach it was almost piecework, because 568 children and adults took the opportunity to try ski jumping for themselves.

“Our jumpers were mixed. The youngest was only 4 years old, the oldest around 40, but everyone had a lot of fun and the conditions were great," explains Wolfgang Riedel, who received the jumpers after landing. For the real feeling of ski jumping, this time we used sawed off skis with alpine binding for the' beginners' and also skis with proper ski jump binding for the' advanced' skiers.”

Although the winter seemed to be far away at 24°C, the snow from the adjacent ice rink provided the perfect basis for snow fun. There was almost non-stop jumping, and many fans like the eight-year-old Madeleine from Munich jumped off the several times. “It's just so much fun. I could already imagine becoming a ski jumper myself," she said enthusiastically and shouldered her skis like a pro, ready to jump again.
