Peter Riedel GmbH has been awarded the job of installing the inrun at the Fichtelbergschanze (Fichtelberg jump).
RASCHAU/OBERWIESENTHAL, 12 December, 2012 – Negotiations and discussions have been going on for months. Over and over, the tide seemed to turn either in favour of or against the Raschau-based company Peter Riedel GmbH. However, since last night, 11 December, it is official. In the matter of restructuring the Fichtelbergschanze of Oberwiesenthal – one of the most traditional jumps of Germany – the responsible local council decided to award the contract for a new inrun to the company Peter Riedel.
Peter Riedel himself could not attend the decisive meeting in person since he was out on business in Austria. “We know that we belong to the world`s leading companies in the field of inrun systems and inrun production. We wanted to support high-performance sport in the Erzgebirge (Ore Mountains) with our competitive offer. So, we could reasonably consider it possible to receive the award”, Riedel said. “But now it is official and it is quite thrilling for me as a native of Oberwiesenthal. This award means so much to me personally – a dream comes true, I may finally take care of my heartfelt wish!”
The Fichtelbergschanze is the highest jump in Germany and has been hosting world cup events in ski jumping and combined in the past. “The municipality of Oberwiesenthal has my word that I will take care of this jump in the same professional way as I take care of all the other jumps. And I promise that the emotionality that can only be wakened by ‘home jumps’ will be our constant driving force”, Riedel explains.
The work will be starting right at the beginning of the new year of 2013. The new REHAU/Ski-Line/Peter Riedel track will be assembled in the summer of 2013.
