March on Riedel tracks

The large hill in Trondheim was the first “world cup project” of Peter Riedel GmbH, and the inrun tracks in Nizhny Tagil were installed there a couple of weeks ago in record time. Now, the COC can guest there…

Peter Riedel, the Nordic winter 2012/13 is coming to an end and currently the world cup in Val di Fiemme is running – which impressions do you have of the competitors in Italy?

Well, it is always a great pleasure to watch the world’s best ski jumpers at work! The modernisation of the ski jumping stadium in Predazzo also did good for the atmosphere and I hope that in the future, my company will again be involved in further restructuring. In the meantime, Peter Riedel GmbH has proven often enough that we are able to handle all challenges and set new standards.

After the world cup, the next stations will also be on “Riedel ski jumps” – at the world cup in Trondheim, at the Continental Cup in Nizhny Tagil…

… And I am looking forward to that! In a certain manner, a circle closes between Norway and Russia. The HS140 in Trondheim was the first system, and moreover, it was the first world cup ski jump which was equipped with a Double-Track system by our company. You can imagine that we had a lot of butterflies in our stomach at the time – true to the motto: will everything be alright? I am still indebted to everyone who supported and promoted Peter Riedel GmbH back then. In a way, Trondheim represents the entering into the real, big world of ski jumps in which we are now making our way better and better each day.

I understand that the athletes are thrilled about Trondheim.

Yes, thank God. It is still about them, they are our true judges. But for example, when the combination star Mikko Kokslien, who trains a lot in Trondheim, talks about the inrun, he is really enthusiastic: it is reliable under the most diverse weather conditions and it gives an optimum gliding feel, he said. And that is very pleasing, of course.

A few days later, they will jump in Nizhny Tagil. This is your most recent project to date.

Due to bureaucratic and organisational difficulties, which were beyond our control, we started very late with the assembly in Nizhny Tagil. We mastered the project at the lowest wintery temperatures – and we are talking -20 to -30 degrees Celsius – within record time. For the installation of the track, our experts didn’t even need four weeks – and at this point again, many thanks to my people! The FIS Continental Cup ends there mid-March at the HS 134 and at the same time, it is a very nice end of this winter for our company.

Where will you be in March?

Here and there… maybe in Trondheim on 14/15 March. It is more important that employees of my company will be resent at both competition locations – in order to provide support when support is needed and to see what can make even better in the future. The FIS cup in Garmisch-Partenkirchen should not go unmentioned, which takes places at the same time and at which Peter Riedel GmbH also acts as a sponsor.

Thank you very much for the interview and good luck for the future!
