Garmisch is crazy for porcelain

RASCHAU/GARMISCH-PARTENKIRCHEN, 8 August 2013 – Even the president of the SC Partenkirchen, Michael Maurer, is delighted with the new porcelain nubs by the company Peter Riedel which were installed at the Olympic ski jump during the last few weeks: “With these nubs, our system retains its title as one of the most modern systems in the world”, he rejoiced while the athletes are also very pleased: “It is really great to run in and lift off here”, they explained in unison.

The other day, company owner Peter Riedel, together with his ski jump technician, accepted the positive feedback in person. The Saxon-based entrepreneur travelled to Garmisch in order to watch the first jumps on the further improved track himself. With a slight updraft and 20 °C, around 20 athletes, including the national teams of Japan and South Korea as well as young talents from the Schigymnasium Stams (Stams ski school), tested the new summer track with special porcelain. “The new material enables an absolutely even acceleration while running in”, Riedel explains the advantages of the nubs, whose developments was mainly encouraged by him. “In the radius, there is no so-called ‘pushing’, i.e. the feeling that the jumper tilts forward. Moreover, a higher inrun speed is possible”.

The new start bars made by the company Peter Riedel have also proven themselves. “It is great to see how enthusiastic you are about the further development in our sport” – a fantastic compliment, expressed by the South Korean coach Wolfgang Hartmann from Germany, and the Japanese coaching staff. “The athletes are the focus of all of my efforts – and for them, I will not stop finding even better solutions for the exercise of their sport”, Peter Riedel thanked them.
