Peter Riedel retires as President of the WSC

Tellerhäuser - almost three successful years lie behind him, but now Peter Riedel, the reigning president of the WSC Erzgebirge Oberwiesenthal, had to make the difficult decision to resign from his honorary office.

The reason for this decision was mainly the difficult compatibility of the presidential office with his day job in the development of sports equipment for ski jumping and winter sports, as Riedel explains: "The members, honorary officers, athletes and trainers of the WSC deserve to get the fullest support possible. This is exactly what I've done with enthusiasm for the past three years. But now I realize that it was not just gnawing at me, but also at my family and my company.

I knew I had to take a step back. But I decided that I would not like to fill this office half-heartedly, which would be unfair to all parties involved. We have achieved incredibly much in my time, but now I like to make space for an equally committed successor. I am not out of the world and like to help where I can - in the sense of the coined motto "We for the Erzgebirge!" But the time at the top for sure has expired for me.“
