RASCHAU - The team of Peter Riedel GmbH has spent the last ten years in Garmisch- Partenkirchen. Since the German company had equipped the Olympic hill HS140 with its patented track system in 2007, Peter Riedel's employees have always been responsible for supervising the competition of the traditional New Year's Jumping of the Four Hills Tournament. A great honour and an important task - but still a drop of bitterness remained: "The whole ski jump team moved on and after all the excitement of this great event we went home to the workshop. Fortunately, this will change in the future," says Peter Riedel, Managing Director.
The patented track system of Peter Riedel GmbH will also be part of the Bergiselschanze in Innsbruck. In July the company was awarded the contract, the production is currently completed and the modules of the track system were delivered to the Bergisel last week and are currently ready for installation at take-off. The completion is scheduled for mid- October.
"Innsbruck plays an important role in the Austrian Skiing Association as a training base and traditional location for the Four Hills Tournament. In preparation for major events, it is important to have decent training conditions and a new, high-quality track here," explains Heinz Kuttin, head coach of ÖSV-Adler.
Peter Riedel will deliver exactly that, as he himself says: "The Four Hills Tournament is the highlight of the winter for ski jumping. In contrast to other major events, an excellent and fair track must be created every year - regardless of the conditions. We have been working very well with the ÖSV for a long time, so I am all the more pleased that we are now tackling another beautiful and important project together!"
