There's a first time for everything. As soon as the installation work on the famous Holmenkollbakken began, Peter Riedel was invited to the famous royal lodge on Wednesday. King Harald V. was not there, but the Norwegian television, which reported on the same evening in the national evening news about the rebuilding work at the jumping hill.

"We knew that everyone in Norway would look at us. But the fact that we made it into Norwegian television in the first week of installation and right into primetime surprised even me," Managing Director Peter Riedel explains.

Before that, he and his team had to deal with completely different problems: the sudden start of winter. The very day when the assembly of the new in-run track was started, Mrs. Holle also called in for duty. It was snowing. “We had expected wet, cold and grey November weather and fog over the Oslo fjord. Instead, we were first spoiled with sunshine and a bright blue sky. Now we were surprised by the first snow. But that is no problem for us. We will definitely complete our work according to plan," Riedel promises.

Right after the Christmas holidays, the Norwegian national team wants to prepare for the International Four Hills Tournament on the Holmenkollen. The FIS World Cup in ski jumping, Nordic combined and cross-country skiing will take place from 9th to 11th March, 2018. And who knows, maybe Peter Riedel will be allowed to return to the royal lodge.
