It’s Tournee o’ clock!

Here they are again, the days around newyear…when the entire ski jumping world takes an excited look at the bavarian-austrian alpine region. The Four Hills Tournament is just around the corner and the world's best ski jumpers are fighting for the golden eagle! Ryoyu Kobayashi, Karl Geiger, Stefan Kraft and Co. have already demonstrated impressively today in Oberstdorf, that this tournament will be an exciting one!

This year, the small amounts of snow are the biggest challenge for the organizers. From our side, we can say that everything is set up in terms of the inrun tracks. Due to the cold temperatures, it is no problem to build up and preserve the required amount of ice in order to offer the athletes ideal conditions. What seems so easy is anything but simple, there is a big logistical challenge behind it!

Dirk and his team traveled to Garmisch this Sunday to make the track suitable for jumping. They had exactly one day for setting, because Monday morning they have to continue to Innsbruck for the pre-inspection. Back to Garmisch again at the same day, because the day after is qualification time. After the competition on January 1st there is only little time for a hangover mood. Packing things and off to Bischofshofen is the motto - and just one day to get everything on track for the big final. However, it is precisely these challenges that we love so much, that set us apart from our competitors and that let us perform on the highest level!

It’s no surprise that the Peter Riedel GmbH - admittedly a little proud - starts in it’s thirteenth four hills tournament! Time to review the past twelve years ...

Twelve years in which we successfully installed our master track inrun at three of four event locations. Garmisch started in 2007, followed by Innsbruck in 2016 and Bischofshofen in 2017.

Twelve years without any problems or incidents.

Twelve years of perfect cooperation with the operators and organizing committees.

Twelve years in which we created a great basis of trust together.

Twelve years in which we faced pretty much any weather - be it snowfall, heavy rain, sun, plus degrees or arctic temperatures.

Twelve years that we are now celebrating new years eve in Garmisch together with the ski jumping family (which is a lot of fun, but also a little sad not to be able to celebrate in my home town)

Twelve years in which the local steel construction company from the Ore Mountains developed into an international sports technology company.

Twelve years for which we want to say THANK YOU to all of our companions and sports fans!

We wish you all a successful tour and a happy new year 2020!

Yours sincerely, Peter Riedel
