New security cover - wider, safer!

The next new development from the Peter Riedel GmbH is out now. Specifically, it is a new textile safety cover for the rails of the milling machine. The new covers run parallel to the inrun and cover the rails completely with a width of more than 22 centimetres.

"The challenge during development was to design the cover in such a way that it would ensure trouble-free operation of the milling machine while at the same time completely covering the rails. After some engineering time, the first cover came off the stack, which makes me very proud. For us as a manufacturer, the safety of the athletes is the most important thing, which has been achieved with the new product," says Peter Riedel, CEO of the company.

The new achievement was successfully installed in Trondheim during the last few days. The system complies with a new FIS rule, which says that there are no gaps allowed beside the inrun track. The new cover has a double fabric insert that is puncture-resistant and increases the safety of the skijumper a lot in the event of a fall during the inrun. While installing the cover, the under construction of the milling machine also had to be considerably widened in order to comply with the new cover.
