Hinterzarten - Good things come to those who wait!

Almost exactly two years ago, we received the confirmation for building the new track for the Rothaus skijumping hill in Hinterzarten. Actually, we wanted to start building the track and the cooling technology right away, but unfortunately the construction site showed us the stop sign. Problems in the planning delayed the project, but what we have learned in the meantime - good things take a long time!

The new construction of the hill has now been completed and it's been our turn for a couple of days! The track has been built so far, the cooling technology and the side panels will follow in the coming days. After a total construction time of three weeks, the project should be completed.

The Rothaus-Schanze is the largest of four jumping hills in the "Adler-Skistadion", which serves as an Olympic training base for ski jumpers and nordic combined athletes in the Black Forest. Hinterzarten is also well-known internationally as the venue for the FIS Summer Grand Prix in ski jumping.

The last project we implemented in Germany was several years ago. To be precise, nine years when Peter Riedel and his team equipped the normal hill in Oberwiesenthal with a Mastertrack back in 2013. The current project in his "home" Germany is a very special one for Riedel. “I presented my double track module for the first time in Hinterzarten in 2002 as part of the German National Championships. The fact that I am now, almost 20 years and many inruns later, able to equip the hill there is very special for me. It is an honor that we, as a German manufacturer, are back in Germany after nine years“, says the managing director.

What you can literally feel in Hinterzarten is the strong ski jumping community. The workers on site are extremely motivated, you can really feel the joy in their participation. Also very positive are the daily visitors  at the hill. No matter whether they are passerby’s, residents, coaches or the parents of children who are enthusiastic about ski jumping - everyone would like to see the construction progress of the project. Even Mayor Klaus-Michael Tatsch and National coach Stefan Horngacher stopped by for a local inspection at the beginning of the week.

Many great and interesting discussions already took place and you can tell that the project has a certain status in Hinterzarten.

The national german championships, the „general rehearsel“ of the new facility, is scheduled to take place in October, and in 2023 with the women's ski jumping world cup and the traditional summer grand prix two highlights will take place.
