Last project of 2022 - and this in saxony!

Now also the last project for this year is in the books. With the K28 jumping hill in Sohland we already completed the sixth hill in Saxony on Wednesday.

The hill in Sohland is not unknown for the Peter Riedel GmbH. We have been in constant contact with the operator, SC Sohland, since 2016.

At that time, parts of the system were renewed, but there was not enough money to rebuild the track. So it was agreed that the new track would be built at a later date. The old track would be used in the meantime.

Three years later, in 2019, the operator approached Peter Riedel with another idea. A height-adjustable take-off table is intended to make the hill jumpable under a wide variety of conditions, for different age groups and in both summer and winter. Said and done - the first, up to 10 centimeters hydraulically adjustable takeoff table was created.

However, the condition of the old stainless steel track continued to get worse, with the result that the inrun speed was reduced and an increased damage on the base of the jumping skis was observed. A new track was needed, and with the help of sponsors, this project now could also be put into practice.

Last week, club members dismantled the old track and created all the prerequisites for the new track to be installed this week. Peter Riedel GmbH assumes all costs related to track assembly. Finally, we also want to make our contribution of promoting skiing in Saxony and the Saxon clubs.

The installed club track was made of special plastic. In combination with high-quality porcelain knobs and the adjustable take-off table, one can jump all year round without snow or ice preparation. This construction guarantees approach conditions like on ice, only without any cooling system and energy costs.

“All year tracks are absolutely trendy. Especially in the current situation where energy costs are so high and everyone is keen to use resources carefully. The club track has the great advantage that there is no need for track preparation or cooling costs. This is good for the environment and the club saves a lot of money. For jumping, only the landing and the outrun have to be prepared with natural or artificial snow. Which in the case of Sohland can be done within two days. An absolutely brilliant thing”, Peter Riedel knows how to report on the great advantages of all year track.
