Traditional visit of the Ski Austria Team at Cafe König

Everyone who knows me knows that I always try to maintain and constantly expand my relationships with the international ski associations. It also happens from time to time that real partnerships and friendships develop out of this. I'm not exaggerating when I say that a friendship like this has developed with the Nordic Combined Team of the Austrian Ski Federation in recent years.

I just got home from Trondheim on Thursday and took the opportunity to welcome the national team in the Cafe König in Oberwiesenthal, a traditional Cafe owned by friend Frank Weber. A reception for the Austrian athletes has become a tradition, be it at the past Junior World Ski Championships or at the annual Summer Grand Prix, like this year.

With a Oberwiesenthaler beer, which was more than deserved after a successful start into the Grand Prix (two times a third place!), and Norwegian delicacies such as salmon and moose salami, we philosophized about the sport and told interesting stories and anecdotes. There is nothing nicer than combining private and professional life! And you won't believe how much you can learn by listening to the athletes and coaches. "People come together when they talk" - so again last night! Thank you for the visit and all the best for the future competitions!

Yours sincerely
